I have a vast amount of experience tracing ancestry through the generations, having gone back over 500 years on my own personal family tree.

Genealogy Research Packages
If you’re wondering ‘how much does a genealogist cost in the UK?’ then I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the cost-effective packages I offer.
Although tracing your family tree can be fascinating, rewarding and a lot of fun, it can also be time-consuming.
By working with me, you can be confident of a professional genealogy service from someone who knows about family history research in the UK and who can uncover your ancestors’ histories quickly and efficiently.
ACORN – A family tree of one Surname in your family. Usually one parent. A printed A3 family tree and a report. The tree will consist of the name of the ancestor and their spouse, year of birth and death, and place of birth and death. (Usually getting back to the early 1800’s or the late 1700’s)

SEEDLING – A family tree of two Surnames in your family. Usually both parents. Two printed A3 family trees (one for each surname) and a report. The tree will consist of the name of the ancestor and spouse, year of birth and death, and place of birth and death. (Usually getting back to the early 1800’s or late 1700’s).

SAPLING – A family tree which includes eight Surnames (14 ancestors) which is back to your great grandparents. Includes copies of any birth, marriage or death certificates ordered, census records and a report.
Also includes any other records found such as military, occupations, electoral roles, wills, baptism, newspaper archives, criminal and school records.
The tree will consist of the name of the ancestor, their year of birth and death, place of birth and death, marriage date and location on an A3 family tree. Siblings will be included but ONLY on the report and accompanying documents. This in my opinion gives you a sleeker easier to read family tree with just your direct ancestors on it.
The family documents come in a compact, easy to read presentation folder.

MIGHTY OAK – A 16 Surname family tree (30 ancestors) which is back to your great great grandparents. Provides everything that an eight Surname tree offers but has a more comprehensive report with greater detail.
Includes a pedigree bow tie family tree and a more detailed A2 family tree.
The family documents come in a compact, easy to read presentation folder.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Any queries or smaller searches will be charged at £18 per hour. Any family trees which have the potential to be expanded further back in time will be researched at an extra £18 per hour charge.
A deposit of 50% is required before work commences. The remaining balance is payable once work is completed. Payments can be made via bank transfer. All details will be sent to you via e-mail once an order is placed.
– All trees are subject to what records are available or have survived the mists of time
– If you are looking at Irish ancestry then contact me and we can discuss possibilities. This is due to Irish records being less comprehensive than those for England, Wales and Scotland.
– I will ask for some information regarding you and your parents and/or grandparents. This will include names, date of births and places of origin. This is to help ensure I am following the correct path and provides more accuracy in the family tree building process.
Due to the amount of research time that each tree requires, please allow up to a month for the Acorn and Seedling packages to be completed, one to two months for the Sapling and two months plus for the Mighty Oak package to be completed.
Once you are happy with the final family tree, all information will be destroyed.
An example of an eight Surname family tree and a 16 Surname tree; the frame and postage are included in the package price.
